Located in northern Gujarat, the Panchmahal Region has a dry, rocky terrain. Small, rural villages are scattered throughout the stony hills that cover the countryside. Traveling anywhere in this region means walking miles on brush-lined mountain trails.
In the warmer months, there is always the threat of a water shortage. Due to droughts, year-round farming and daily life are difficult. As a result, many of the region’s residents migrate to other parts of the state to find work when cultivation is impossible.
